Abstract:
Preliminary results of the radiography analysis of the cosmic muon data accumulated by the NOvA Near Detector (during Apr. 2015 - Oct. 2016 period) are presented. Differential muon flux subtraction is achieved assuming approximate azimuthal reflection symmetry of the Near Detector. Neither Geant simulation of the surface muon flux attenuation (above detector), nor the surface (open-sky) muon flux subtraction are necessary in this approach. MINOS access shaft, SBN-FD (ICARUS) excavation and MiniBooNE hill are visible on the 2D radiographic maps obtained.
