Abstract:
The Michigan State University Fiber Loop Transmission (FLT) QA device pumps red light into one end of each of 32 fiber loops in a NOvA module and measures the light received
from the other end. A transmission QA test can be done in just a few seconds and is repeatable within a few percent. Removing clearly damaged fibers, typical RMS variation in transmission is 10%, similar to variations seen in Fiber QA.
